Workshops

Help your team turn complex questions about genomics, AI and biotechnology into shared understanding and step-wise change.

Workshops combine clear science with active discussion, role play and scenario planning to explore transformative change. Sessions are tailored to your team and its decisions, making technological opportunities, ethical questions and strategic risks concrete.

Build understanding your team can use together

  • Develop a shared vocabulary and understanding across specialist and non-specialist colleagues.
  • Explore opportunities, assumptions and risks through structured discussion and scenarios.
  • Identify lean, Agile and effective next steps towards impactful, highly scalable change your team can put into practice.

Sessions can include a tailored presentation, interactive exercises, Q&A, a written summary and recommendations. Half-day, full-day and focused team formats can be discussed around your goals.

Facilitation and team experience

These sessions are shaped by substantial experience helping specialist teams learn, decide and change together.

  • Mentored MSc and PhD students, postdoctoral researchers and AI developers, and introduced Agile and minimum-viable-product thinking to research-heavy teams.
  • Extensive experience of working in cross-functional teams, with systems architects, AI engineers, clinicians, pathologists, parasitologists, and many others.
  • Designed and delivered tailored computational biology and statistics teaching for professors, postgraduate students and the general public in the UK, Sweden, Malawi and India, including for Cambridge Higher Education and Wellcome Advanced Courses.
  • Helped organise retreats, conferences and professional-development programmes for hundreds of researchers at the Wellcome Sanger Institute.

Did you know?

In 2019, U.S. authorities announced charges against 35 people in an alleged USD 2.1 billion genetic-testing fraud scheme. This is a concrete case for teams to examine: what does the evidence support, who benefits, and which questions should be asked before acting? Workshops provide a setting to practise that scrutiny together.
